"Dear Jan, Just a note to say that we have finished the first DVD...we can't wait for the second; but we have to wait until weekends when my husband has time to watch with us!
I am so glad you put this together...thank you for keeping Darlene's story alive.
"Hi, Jan -- Welcome home. Know overseeing this project is a labor of love. Please thank your husband for getting those CD's off to me -- I'll treasure them, and look forward to sharing them as well.
Bought Darlene's book, Evidence Not Seen, and have a hard time putting it down. I try to read it carefully so that her experience is not wasted on me. She speaks (per CD) just as the book is written, and I tremble and sweat and swat along with her, and pray that through the testimony of her dependence and trust in the Lord, I will live my life a little more surrendered than I did prior to "knowing" my sister Darlene.
Thank you for staying in touch. The Lord is so gracious to "gift" His saints to one another.
Your sister in Jesus Christ,
"...I received a book from my 84 year old Mother
about a month ago. She told me it was the most gripping book of
courage and testament to the Lord Jesus that she has ever read. I
was and am so moved...Please tell her thank you for the book, for by
reading it I now have a stronger love and faith in the Lord. Please
give them a hug from me and tell them I can't wait for the day I
will get to meet them in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ. May God
bless you. Bruce"
"...I am 22 years old. I fell in love
with her book, and I have read it many times. It never fails to
touch my heart. I am so very thankful for soldiers such as Darlene
Rose. She has become my Christian heroine, and I just wanted to say
thank you for what you did to help her in the last stages of her
life. I cannot wait to meet her on the other side and rejoice with
her in the presence of our Savior. I pray I can be a good soldier as
she was and touch people's lives for the Savior as she did. Please
tell her husband that her story has touched my heart as no other story
has. Thank God for soldiers of the Cross!!! Praise His name, for He
is worthy! Amanda..."
"I have tears in my eyes as I write this.
I have just finished reading EVIDENCE NOT SEEN." What a moving,
phenomenal story. Please give her a hug for me. I cannot imagine the
depths of her faith. I say a prayer for her. Elsie"
"I have just read the book Evidence Not
Seen and it has strongly impacted my life at age 34. I am asking God
to make me such a woman as Darlene. Sincerely, Colleen"
"Dear, Darlene, thank you for sharing
your story. You magnified the goodness of God and encouraged me that
God can be trusted completely for working out His purpose through me
for His glory and my ultimate good. You did a careful job of sharing
your suffering without drawing the attention on you., I have know
enough suffering to know that you kept back quite alot. Bless you,
dear sister, for your faithful witness and your boldness in sharing
the Gospel. Delighting in Christ, Jeanne"
"Mr. Rose, My name is Katherine and I'm
16..living in New Zealand...a good friend gave me Darlene's
book...I wasn't able to put it down...there isn't much solid
spiritual food in Auckland... and this has encouraged me so I want
to learn and recite all the Scripture. I can store the verses up in
my heart in preparation for what God wants to give me. I had a time
being empty but Darlene's story of an ordinary human being
obedient...makes me want to also live by faith...as I get to know
him better. The book makes me think that I too want to live such a
life as pure, blessed and holy as this one but it seems difficult
because my memories are touched with regret from sinfulness. I
started writing this letter...and just found out now that your wife
has gone to be with Jesus...but just to encourage you that a year on
from her death she is still doing Christ's work. I will be a good
soldier for Christ too and I know that he is with me everywhere.
"Dear Mrs. Rose, Hello, my name is Amy. I
currently am a missionary in Thailand, living here with my husband
and 4 children. Today, I finished Evidence Not Seen. I actually
stayed behind from church because I have been sick. I turned on some
of my favorite worship music and settled into my bed to read your
beautiful story. I can't even express how God touched my heart
through that book. It has been a dry and barren season for me
personally. Attitudes and behaviors I've so needed to put off yet
haven't. It was five days into the new year when I realized I hadn't
even opened my Word yet. The Book that has changed my life the most
yet it sat dusty on my side table. No wonder I was feeling dry and
barren. Well, today, the floodgates of heaven within were
overflowing and I was so very thankful for the Lord's renewing
touch. Your story reminded me of another favorite of mine, The
Hiding Place, another book the Lord has used in my life. Both
stories exemplify sacrifice, surrender, suffering, service and love
like none other I've read outside of the Bible. I don't know why God
has used such stories to touch me but I too want to live such a
life. All to His honor and glory! Thank you for writing this book.
Thank you for sharing with the world how Jesus worked in and through
you. It is truly inspiring to many that have read and will read.
What a great cloud of witnesses we are surrounded by that testify to
this amazing life of faith we've been called to live. I wanted you
to know how your life has given God glory today in my own life. Keep
shining His light dear sister. With love, Amy"
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Henry, My name is Kayla.
I am 16. I have just finished reading Evidence Not Seen by
Mrs. Darlene Deibler Rose. I noticed that my copy is from four years
ago and she was still living in this world then. Is she still, or
did she go to live with our LORD Jesus??? If she is still here, can
you tell her that her book encouraged me sooooo much. I laughed,
smiled, frowned, and had trouble not crying. I have always felt that
the Lord is leading me to be a missionary and I just sent in a
registration form to Teen Missions (teenmissions.org) to go to
Africa this summer. I have always wanted to witness the things that
Mrs. Rose tells about in her book like the part where she remembered
the Bible she had borrowed and ran to the barracks to get it, and
when she came back the place she was laying in the trench had been
bombed. I feel as though I had been with her through her experience.
I will be re-reading this book plenty of times through the rest of
my life! I can't wait to meet you, her, her family, or all the
people she led to the Lord, though It'll most likely be in Heaven!:)
Your sister in Christ, Kayla P.S. Please pray for me. I have been
having doubts and it bothers me real badly! Thanks!!
Hi there,I just finished reading the
book "Evidence Not Seen" and at the end of the book was this e-mail address.
I was excited to hear that Mr. and Mrs. Rose live in Chattanooga. I
understand from the book they were both sick and perhaps one or both
of them have passed away by now, but I was just checking to see if
there is anyway I can be of service to them if they are still living.
My husband is a pastor here in town ( At Covenant Presbyterian Church
in East Brainerd) and I have sat and cared for elderly folks for many
years from time to time, so if anyone needs someone to sit with them,
read to them, help out in anyway...these godly saints have certainly
given their all, and I would be honored to help.
Please let me know if I can do anything for them. I enjoyed the book so much, and
was both challenged, humbled and amazed at God's ways. Thank you and please thank them to if possible.
Above testimonies given by friends of Darene Rose.
